This piece was commissioned as a vibrant testament to African American heritage and familial legacy. This mosaic art piece is made from recycled materials to depict the rich history and resilience of three generations of Black women. At the heart of the mosaic stands the African American History Museum and iconic landmark for cultural preservation and empowerment. Standing proudly in front of the museum are the figures of three women, each embodying the spirit of their time; the matriarch, who carries the weight of legacy and wisdom; the mother, a beacon of hope and determination; and the daughter, poised on the cusp of her own journey, inheriting the lessons of the past. I hope this piece invokes the power the family and the indomitable spirit of the African American experience.

I am thankful to have been given the opportunity to make such a powerful piece, that will hopefully be enjoyed for generations to come. I hope this becomes a beloved art piece passed down through their family for many years.
